Transmission Cooler

I read the tech article on here but im still confused. There are lines that run back to the tranny? And you just take the lines off the rad and put them on the cooler???? Or something else. Anyone know what to do??

How I did this on my S-10 Blazer (kinda necessary for that vehicle, unnecessary for our F3 rides), was tranny return line out of the tranny, into the cooler, then into the tranny.
Blazer, trucks get abused. Driving heavy loads.
When was the last time ya abused your ride?
IF ya radiator is in good condition so is the cooler for the tranny. I know heat is the enemy, but, it does get very hot out here in SoCal. It's your call.

wel I'm gonna go with KED(yet again) but you can cut the return lint close to the radiator. 1 line run into the input side of the cooler and run the output of the cooler to the other end of the line you cut. For our cars a tranny cooler is not realy needed. Unless you run in extreme heat conditions. I have heard alot of good things about sho gun converter coolers though. That requires the dropping of the tranny though.

One thing I was strongly suggested on.
Always use the tranny cooler. Use an aux cooler AFTER it exits tranny radiator cooler.
But, it's really kinda unnecessary, unless......
Spend the money on gas!!

Unless you have a stall converter, or plan on towing, you won't need an extra cooler. The one built into the radiator will do just fine.

I completely disagree. That trans gets hot as hell! It doesn't matter engine-size; the 700r4 runs hotter than other transmissions- and if you're zipping around, it'll be even hotter. Heat is what breaks down transmission fluid; and when trans fluid breaks down, your trans wears out faster. For $40, you can't beat a trans cooler, as opposed to a grand or so for a transmission.

My B&M Supercooler came with fittings to go into the existing cooler lines from the trans to the radiator. I didn't have to cut any lines. Keeping the factory trans cooler is recommended, simply because the temperature exchange ratio is higher between metal-to-water than for metal-to-air. Oh yeah- and I also installed Summit's remote trans filter kit.
