driveshaft ?
Ok guys , this may seem like a stupid question .I was thinking , would a aluminum drivesaft out of a old Z28 or Iroc fit my car? In case you dont know , I have a 88 2.8 rs camaro automatic .Wed i am planning on putting my it in the shop for the shaking and getting them to call me when they find out whats wrong with it .If they tell me a driveshaft , I was wondering If a aluminum wouild work on it .And if it would work , how much you think a junkyard would charge me for it ? thanx guys , Wayne
Yeah, it will fit. RS, Z28, Automatic, or Manual....they are all the same length. I think at the local Pick-a-Part they charge like $60 for an aluminum one....i think.

They may not be able to tell if it's drive shaft.
99% of time, it'll be sent to a shop literally specializing only in drive shafts.
I watched the guy make my driveshaft for my 1967 Camaro. Yes, make it from scratch (Mine required TH400 tranny (I have a stick, same thing, tho) shaft end & special end for a 12 bolt). At a place called Cannon Engineering, N Hollywood.
Check you local phone book for a shop dealing in driveshafts. You cannot tell, UNLESS you see real damage or where the weight fell off. They are put on a "Lathe" with a strobe attached to it and it goes to work. It spins and flashes the light. The person operating it knows what to do.
IT COULD BE U Joints, tho!
Find that specialized shop!
PS BAD NEWS the one from the wrecking yard may be in WORST shape then what you have now. YOU NEVER KNOW! And that purchase cost could have been effectivly used toward proper repair of yours!
