Ok, I need to get this injector/poundage thing worked out once and for all!

I've read the posts by Karl and Graeme and ect... but I don't think I get it... Right now, all I need it straight facts and straight answers, I'll try and make this as simple as possible. (and please, avoid mentioning anything about 305's, 350's... this is a V6 post, I want V6 facts, no "well I know 305's have..." type deals....) (no flame intended)

#1 Our V6 injectors are 15LB injectors, correct?

#2 Our V6 fuel pressure running to the injectors is what?

#3a The types of injectors are the 'shower' and the 'pintle' type... 'pintle' being better...

#3b The best to use would be Bosch ones, but because they are so expensive everyone just uses SVO's and the GM o-rings?

#4 injector poundage does not matter... -theoretically- we could 100LB injectors, and as long as we had the fuel pressure to not cause a lean condition, they'd be fine...

Anything else I could have missed, anything you feel I should know about?
Thanks!

Xenodrgn,
The stock 1995 F Body 3.4 ones looked to me, just like a shower head, multiple holes.
I still have the stock 1985 2.8 issued injectors. Those are the Pintle. I had this same fuel injector style on my 1975 Fuel Injected Opel (Germany of GM built, Bosch L-jetronic fuel injection system. Same fuel injection design style as a mid 70's Porsche). I had to get new ones, then. They were called, as you've said, Pintle style.
Better performance?
I do not know that call.
I do now know the specific size (flow?) or have I changed to an adjustable fuel pressure regulator.

Yeah, I can confirm the part about the '85 2.8 injectors... I just looked at one outta my car, definatly looks pintle to me...

It seems to me that the 'shower head' style would be better, to shoot that fuel/air mix right down at the valve opening, but I suppose the arguement here is that the pintles have better atomization... Comments?

So anyone about any of the other questions?

On the poundage, i was told by accel when i was looking at their tpi injectors, the poundage refers to the size of the holes in the injectors.. so a 21lb has larger holes than a 15lb

A quick crash course in factory fuel injectors... this is used without permission from the TPI swappers guide, and applies more to V8 injectors than V6 injectors BUT the information is still helpful.

From the pictures you can see the internal workings of the injectors. The pintle type injectors are more durable and dependable, last longer etc. However the Multec injectors deliver a better spray pattern and are self cleaning. As for fuel pressure, the V6's used the same fuel pressure regulators as the V8, so its safe to assume the injectors would be rated for the same pressure as a V8.

Karl, you said it looked like the shower type, the shower type being Multec's... I'd say that that is what you're using....

Well, I guess I don't need to know this information, if I decide to build up my 6, I'll just bump up the pressure... (in addition to other things, of course).... however the more I race up and down 37, the more I fall in love with the V8 grumble, so I'm starting to look into fixing this up and selling it to get the cash for a 350 IROC or Trans Am.... I'm not abandoning you guys, my roots lay here, but as you've all said before, you could spend tons of money making a V6 run 13's and 12's... or you buy a 350, cam and cold air and run the same...

turbo's... I wanna twin turbo this 6, it'd be cool as hell, but I have no way of making it street legal after that... EOF...
