No, you start with the rear end gear area.
The move to the axle tubes.
DO THIS SAFELY, PLEASE.
IT IS NO THE WISEST THING TO BE UNDER A CAR, WITH THE ENGINE RUNNING!!!!
Cheapest is to take off the rear axle cover.
Then just keep shaking the driveshaft for lots of freeplay.
Try removing the tires and seeing anything unusual!
IF the noise is not EXTREME from teh rear axle cover area, take it to a tranny shop. Just MAKE SURE YOU DO NOT TELL THEM YOU DID A 5,000 RPM NEUTRAL TRANNY DROP!!!
You want them to help you, not have a good laugh!!!
Share the laughs with us!!!!!
We could use them some days!!!!!!!
BE SAFE PLEASE!!!!!!
Put wood blocks in the front wheels to prevent them from moving too!!!
OR safely, tow it to a garage and have them check it out!!!
They'll find it quickly, too !!
Have fun learning, we all STILL DO!
