is there any cloth or material that u can put under it and keep the heat away from it? that would make it alot better right??????

 

Import guys do that to their cold-air tubes; sounds like a good idea. Check the Summit catalog for "starter heat wrap"... it's an aluminized velcro'd blanket used to wrap starters that you could use. I don't think the stuff is sold by the foot anywhere...

If nothing else go back to lowes/Home depot and get that aluminum foil heat shielding. a roll of 24inX10Ft cost me like 15 bucks or something like that.. Is good to 2000deg F. supposed to block 98Percent of radiant heat.
