Emissions again

So i told ya all about how my old firebird did in the emissions, i thought i would share how my mav did. Ok so i get there, now mind you i have a HUGE crack in the wind shield, i mean its huge and VERY noticable. So i ask point blank, am i gonna fail for it before we do the inspection. HE says no and asks for the keys. He hops in, checks the wipers, horn, e-brake and asks me to do all the lights while he inspects the function of em all. He gets back in and tests the brakes and then pulls it into the bay. He proceeds to tell me its pre emission and no matter what i do to the engine i can't fail as long as the car passes safety inspection. He recommends that i lean the carb out abit as its running rich, proceeds to help me do that, then says he has a 429 big block that he would sell me cheap. He also told me it would sound better if i run stright pipe to flowmasters and dump em before the rear axle, that theres nothing he can do really about anything dealing with engine before 1977. I asked him then "so if i come in with a B&M blower sticking out the hood and stink the place up with gas fumes as long as i pass safety i get a sticker" he looks at me and says yes, but i will have to take a car like that around the block of course and then laughs and gives me a sticker. I gotta tell ya i LOVE older cars Muhahahahahaha.

Yeah thats pretty much US wide now if the cars before 77 now? a few years back was 76/75 no emissions because there were few if any on the car anyway from the factory. Va I know wants to change it but they can't bacuse of the Hot Roders keep fighten it. Yeah I loved taking my 76 camaro and My 76 chevy G 20 van up to inspection because neither of em had any exhaust. The G 20 had a HD HO 350 with straight pipes to a MEGA phone exhaust tip that was 4 inch by 17 inches long pointed directly at the side. I could hear the exhaust bounch off an ANT!. I loved to pull up next to rustange and rev they had nothin on me! NOTHING!. Standing 5 feet away you could feel your jeans shaking from the exhust. I loved it. The damnest thing though it kept blowing trannies! 3 of 'em blew gears outta 350, 400 and fused a 700R4 into 1 forward gear(think it was second?)... Hmm it could spin 31x10.50x15's(both sides mind you) for 50 feet or more if I really tried. Great little van that was... cost me 275 bucks too!... ran it for a year before selling it for 500!(blown tranny go figure huh?)
