Nasty, Nasty, V8 guys. Check it out!
Yesterday I came up next to a 60's some Chevelle. Definatly a 350, primered out, dropped, and had a flowmaster system. Sounded bad *** . I was just cruising and when I came next to him, he started jumping on the gas. I gave him a nod and we pulled up to a light. Plenty of time to stage and prep and all. (BTW, these were some ****y ganster guys). Light goes green, we both launch at the same time. I get a whole load of wheel hop (I'm working on that next), but by 40 I had a car and a half and pulling away. We kept going till about 75 (atleast I did) and he never stood a chance. Don't get me wrong either, this guy was racing cuz you could hear his loud *** car redlining and everything. Plus, they all had shameful faces when they rolled by, just as I yelled, "THIS IS JUST A SIX!" HAHA, just a six my butt, I love my six.
Anyway, anyone have any idea what these things run stock?
Is there any temporary fix for the wheel hop?
Thanks. Payce.

well saldy enough I have eaten a 70s chevelle with a (get this) a 86 Plymouth Reliant K 2.2. It was a fluke yes but a win non the less. He spun I floored and went 2 lights later he pulls off the road never to be seen again.
But anyway those chevelles wiegh a good 2 tons(4k Lbs) and run usually mid 15's stock because of the weight.

If you want a temp solution to avoid wheel hop, Don't over rev it at the launch, start at about 2500 then floor it after you release the break, that's how I beat my friend in his 66 GT stang

OK we all know that a 350 that is tuned good in that Chevell is going to out run the V6's in the Thirdgens, unless you have mine.
Anyways... if you didnt get a good look at it how did you know what it was? How did you know it had flowmasters?
I think from what you said about them being some wanna be gangsters and the car was dropped with a ****ty paint job, I am thinking it probably wasnt in the best running shape.
A win none the less, and a win against a V8 car, but I wouldn't fly your banner to high over this one. Though obviously they thought they were fast and I wish I could have seen the look on their face when you said its only a 6 LOL that had to be great.
