When your pump was going bad what kind (if any)hints did you have before complete failure? My RS doesn't seem as "peppy" anymore.
The last 2 nights at work I would start my car to have some heat inside. After 5 minutes or so it would shut off.It also takes longer to start. My better half(yeah right!)has had it stall on her at red lights,or anytime she lifts her lead foot from the pedel at very slow speeds.
I don't have a fuel pressure guage to check my pressure.Just trying to get an idea if it may be pump problems.

You might want to pick a gauge up; it will give you the final "say" of a dying pump, and might also give you warning. My car seemed fine, both times, up until the pumps died. I'll say tho, after putting a new pump in, there's a definate boost in power. I assume the drop in power was so minimal, and spread out over such a long period of time, that I didn't notice it.

Like I said, the pumps sounded odd. The first to die (original AC Delco) went from a strong "hummm" to a weak "gurgle/buzz". It sounded like it was sick. The second (and most recent, hopefully the last!) to die was a Borg-Warner pump. It went from a strong "hummm" to a Really Loud "BUZZZZZ!" It sounded like I had one pissed off bumblebee in the gas tank, and was really noticable from inside the car- even over my exhaust.

The pump's between $60-$100. The labor is what's expensive; unless you do it yourself. The procedure's in the Haynes 82-92 Camaro (or Firebird) manual. It's not "technically" hard; it's just a lot of work. (Trust me; I've done it twice.) But get the f/p gauge!! I got mine for $40 @ Pep Boys. You don't want to change the fuel pump and have the same problem!

Besides, '87Camaro, that sounds like a MAF sensor problem, or a dirty IAC motor (or clogged IAC passageway), or incorrect timing to me.

[edit] Also, if your pump was going, you'd have problems like the car not starting at all, or the car would be impossible to get moving. Kevin's problem sounds more like a fuel pump. (Hopefully it's just clogged injectors, or something else.) But the fuel pressure gauge is great; if I have a bad stalling/starting problem, one of the first things I do (after checking spark) is put the fuel gauge on to make sure I have fuel pressure- when I see that I do, it eliminates the fuel system completely from the problem.
