i have a 92 camaro 3.1 v6 mfi 5 speed. my speedo was working. i had to put a fuel pressure regulator on it over the winter. in that time i replaced all dash lights and bypassed the vats with the right resistors. now the speedo don't work and have check engine light and no codes.. need help.. didn't want to replace the vss. as it costs 110.00 for mine. just didn't want to put it on and still not work..any help..

 

i have read alot of threads on here and still stumped.. is there a way to put a test light on the vss plug? or a way to see if its the wire or ground? all gauges work fine..

to test the VSS output you need an oscilloscope or a voltmeter.


my guess is that your cluster isn't seated into the plugs all the way, pull it back out and re-check all your work, then clean the contacts.

 

i just bought another cluster it works fine. must have been just the speedo after all thanks..
