Muffler or Catback?????????????

I have a flow muffer and I noticed some loss in low end and some gain in high end. Now I was told by alot of V8 guys that a whole catback would be a waste of money because our V6 doesnt put out enough fumes to be restrictive. Ok, understandable. BUT, how could my friend's Integra with a catback have so much more feel of more power than my just muffler? Did I make a mistake? Would a catback really help more?

Dont cvompare your exhaust system to theirs.
The dont have any torque so they dont worry about it. If you engine was made to run from 3000rpm to 6000rpm then by being freeing up you exhaust you would get a lot more power, but your V6 is made to produce more torque at lower RPMs than that Rice burner.
Moral of the story, you will suffer some low end grunt in a V6 to get more up top, but trust me it is for the best.
If you could get headers, custom Y-pipe, High flow cat and a 2 1/2" cat back, you would see that it would do nothing but give you gains.

A cat-back's good for any f-body; ignore your friends. Smaller engines benefit from an exhaust with low-restriction pipes, too. (Just don't go overkill, as in, 3" pipes. 2.5" will be fine.)
