Re: tpi

Throttle body itself, 52mm, idk what size TPIs have, but our plenums have mouths that are smaller than the bores on our throttle bodies.

Re: tpi

TPI & LT1 are both dual 48 mm.
LS1 is single 75 mm.

Neither is an easy upgrade, to the point that I can't recall ever seeing a v8 TB on our engines....

Re: tpi

There was a pic posted quite some time ago where someone grafted the front part of a TPI plenum into the upper plenum on a 2.8 to put on the TPI throttle body... Might be difficult to find. And that's about the only way to get the TPI TB onto the V6 plenum without some major work to make an adapter plate.

Re: tpi

I've seen that done 3 different ways, this pic was the better looking of the 2 ways using the stock 2.8/3.1 Fbody parts.

The other was Curtis "TurboZ24" who had a LT1 TB flange welded to a 3.4 UIM

Now, this guy did something pretty cool looking for his Fiero...

Re: tpi

He didn't make it, they sell that at one of the fiero stores, should bolt up to our engines just fine, though throttle cables would be an obvious issue.

If you're talking about the one in the link, the intake will be backwards.

It sounds like he prototyped it, then who ever made the original for him is now selling them.

Re: tpi

I don't see how the Fiero intake would be backwards... The lower plenum is reversible, and the fuel rail bolts are on the left side (if the DTB intake was pointed towards the front of the car as on our cars stock) just like our stock lower plenum, as seen in the pic of the red manifold on page 2 of the link. The only thing I see being a problem would be the throttle cable, as mentioned above. Looks like a swap to a J-body cable would be needed as in the 3x00 and hybrid swaps. :edit, again: Only question I have is, where does the brake booster connect?

Those TBs look like the ones I've seen on Mitsu/Chrysler 3.0 V6 engines...

Re: tpi

i wanted to know that the stock bore was on the v6 one and is it worth the time to put a lt/tpi 48mm throttle body on the v6 intake.
