Im not part of the V6 group anymore!!!
well i finally did it, actually i did it about 2 weeks ago, but i got rid of the 3.1 in my 92' camaro, in went a solid 305 TPI that should be pumping 350 horses without the NOS. Although every time i look at the 3.1 in the engine stand i sort of miss it, but i need the extra power, The v6 3.1 is still in the engine stand and im curious to know if anyone wants it, as a cheap replacement, its in Awesome condition, no rattles or leaks, its really clean and i never used any detergant on it. It does have 93,000 miles on it, but i took very good care of it. Make me an offer, if no one offers anything guess ill just junk it, so if u need a 3.1 as a replacement nows your chance to get it for dirt cheap. thanx

Congrats on the swap, Vortec! Got any pics of it? How long did it take? What kind of transmission did you use?

oh the whole complete swap took about 5 days, the biggest pain was the engine harness and the EXPENSE that some sensors are. I must of drove to and from pep boy at least 20 times. I put in a t-5 tranny, so far everything looks great, and ill basically take anything for the 3.1 motor. Id rather see it in a chevy or pontiac than in the junkyard

Hey vortech I noticed you are from NY. How does this swap effect your insurance and emission regulations? Does your car have to pass v6 or v8 emission standards? Or is it the same for both engines? Will this bring up any problems when inspection time comes, being that your vin says the car is a v6?
