ok, i know i've seen so many possible intake ideas on this board, but i've finally got one of my own, that, even with my limited experience with working on cars, seems like i could make it work. it would involve completely removing that frustrating stock box and "tubing". it's similar to what i see people do with pvc tubing and a cone filter, except that the tubing splits. with one pathway heading straight and the other veering to the left. it's hard to explain, and i'll get a picture after i buy the tubing, but it looks like a possibility for much better than stock intake with a possibility for cold air intake. any suggestions or comments are appreciated.

85-89 Camaros use the "dual-snorkel" intake. This comes straight off the throttle body, and heads for the front bumper. It uses two filters located by the hood latch. This is the "best" intake used by the fuel injected f-bodies, and your best bet for improvement is to follow the directions for the TPI ram-air in thirdgen.org's tech section.

85-92 Firebirds and 90-92 Camaros use the lame "side box" air intake. The intake on the 85-89 Firebirds is the most restrictive of all the side-box intakes.
