Ok, Idea... what if we call up Hedman with a Group Purchase offer for some one-offs..

Topic says it all... anyone wanna do some calling around? I'm no good at organizing things like this...

The plan would be to get a number of poeple (the more the better) to commit to buying these headers, then call up Hedman and say, "Hey, look, I've got 25 people that want to buy some 2.8/3.1 headers... wanna make some one offs for us?" and see what they say...

Heck, then maybe we could do a GP for some Jet Hot coatings...

Depending on how much they cost (You know, the whole supply and demand thing) I will be definitely be in if the price is right! But if they start going over 5 to 600 dollars than.....maybe. I REALLY WANT SOME HEADERS!

if headman is a no-go, there is always pacesetter, they have 3.4 headers for 4th gen, & 2.8 blazers. should be just a matter of bending the current one at factory to clear our firewalls.

Last time I spoke to Hedman about a GP, they said they needed to get 100 or so people to even consider re-making the headers.

If the price is reasonable, I'm in.

Yep, Hedman told me the same thing (in a rather snotty tone), but I think they told me they needed a larger # of orders, something ridiculously large. I don't understand- I know they have the plans, and I know they have the machines and resources. If 8 of us paid $250, that's $2000 easy money for them.

So, count me OUT. I guarantee that when I buy a project car, or any other car, I will NOT buy Hedman headers for it. If a company that I'm interested in gives me attitude, I don't forget.

Tom, good call, I'm inclined to agree with you... I guess we're just going to have to wait for Camaro-Hunter...

$2000 easy money for them is nothing. YOu must consider that they must make fewer of a better sellign model to make these. There is a lot of down time for re-tooling and re-programming the machines.
I dont think a $250 price will be able to be achieved. If you get some one-offs you looking at around $600 a set for my best guess.
Though there is no excuse for attitude though. Just cause you have a car they dont make them for now, it doesn't mean you never will. I liked my headmen headers though, but next car its either TES or SLP.
Now pacesetter is your best bet, because they already have the 2.8 headers for the blazer and all they have to do is change a bend. THat should not cause for adjusting the tooling just adding an extra bend on the CNC bending machine.

No flames, but you'll have better luck mamking your own set, or bendin the 3.4 set before anymone makes them again...

True; but I wonder how many of their "best sellers" are sitting in a warehouse already...

Dunno, but the laws of supply and demand coupled with the the bottom line dictated they quit making them or never made them before.
I dunno phone calls can never hurt. The only dumb question is the one that never gets asked. Call all the header sompanies.

Im in for sure if you guys can find a company that will do it for a decent price then lets do it. Pacesetter or Headman either way , but pacesetter does sound easier

Kyle, the headers for the 2.8 blazer... what do you have to bend? Is it like the 3.1 ones where you have to bend it up a little for clearance? Same deal?

Yea, I think, not sure, but the angle on the way dow need to be increased to clear somethings. There have been a few people on here that have claimed to have pulled it off, but I have never seen pics. I would imagine it is hard to do.
Try PAceseeter I think they make them for the 3.4L 4thgens right? and they should be similar engine bays to the Thirdgen.
