As much as I know I will get beat for saying this but....Save up for a V8
IF you must keep the 2.8L I would start with a new exhaust. Then after that just have fun and hang around saving up to see if anyone figures out how to make up a turbo setup for the 60*s. If you dont feel like waiting for a turbo... Second mod (if you have a manual tranny) should be a POSI. Will help you out a ton. If you have an auto I would say a shift improver kit. After that get a cam. Then port the intake and heads. Followed by a bored out 3.4L block. Thats really all you can do as far as big HP increases. Have fun and hope I helped. Keep the V8 idea in the back of your head though. I promise it would make you happier.
