turbo buick: forged everything, built stronger.

4th gen 3.8: series 1 or 2: newer design, very powerful for n/a & supercharged.

both 90* motors, more parts available for the 4th gen motor ( i.e. less costly to get)

Kyle F can give you better on the turbo buick motor

Well the main difference is in the design. The series 2 in the 4th gens and the Grand Prix has redesigned heads and intake, plus some differences in the computer. The particulars I never really looked into because its not that big of deal. BAsically here is a way to look at it. 95 Buick 3.8 Series 1 in a LeSabre packed 170hp naturally aspirated put on the supercharger and the Reviera has 225hp, Series 2 in a New Camaro or Grand Prix is 200hp naturally aspirated. Put on the crappy supercharer and you get 240.
Now for the Turbo buick 3.8.... well things were a ;little better. As stated above most parts are forged for strength The computer program is different. I mena the blocks are similar, but the internals are different. Oh yea the cam in the turbo has less lift and more duration than a regular 3.8.
Um thats about the jest of it. I have never really dig into one to really give you the specfics.

Past Thirdgen:
86 Trans Am w/ built 355TPI with SLP goodies and too much other stuff to List. One sweet *** car, wish I would have had a good enough Job to pay insurance on three cars so I could keep it, but for a 89 Turbo Trans Am w/ Low miles, I think I made the right choice!
