255's, any larger and you get ballooning...
18 inch rims are going to throw your speedo off unless you go with some insane rice-ishly thin sidewall tires...
Oh, and FYI, IROC rims are 16*8... I believe Corvette rims are 18*10...

I want to get aftermarket chrome IROC style rims from Performancewheeloutlet.com
They look slick and are bigger.
If 18s throw off the speedo, how about 17s?

Stuart, just remember that width determines how wide of a tire you can go, and hieght will tell you how high of a sidewall you'll need. Lets start with the 18 inch rims. Assume you're going to run the widest tires possible.
255/50/R18's your overall tire hight is going to be 28.2 inches (leaving manufacturer 'error' out of this), with a 5 inch height sidewall.
255/40/R18's (if you can even buy them) and you have 26.6 inch tall wheel with a 4 inch tall sidewall.
With a 17 inch rim, just subtract an inch off the overall wheel height, and the sidewall height stays the same.
In retrospect, that's not a ***** thin sidewall afterall. Rice = 1-3 inches. I don't know what stock size tires/rims you had on your car, so I can't tell you what combo would throw your speedo off the least, but any combo up there will only throw it off in negligable amounts. 5 MPH slower tops...
the formula is:
tire width (in MM) / 25 * aspect ratio (aspect ratio is a percent, don't forget) * 2 (two sidewalls) + rim diameter = wheel diameter in inches...
Before you buy the rims, make sure you can buy tires for it... some sizes just arn't available...
Good luck.
