I went to the parts store and found the LARGE CHILTONS book had SUPERB diagrams.
1985 is a stand alone, one year design.
Recently, when I had bad idle, I knew it was the main PVC pipe engine section gone bad.
Base of distributor, driver side, on the engine.
How I fixed it.
I had to remove the upper top intake piece.
I used 1/2" heater hose, for a slip fitting to the hard line PVC section. This took LOTS of patience and motor oil as lubricant. Solved the major problem, that way.
Rest is very simple.
Use 5/16" windshild wiper hose for smog/vacuum hard line patches. Lube with motor oil, also.
ALSO can go to GM dealer and ask them for a print out of this routing. Ask for the PVC illustration set up, print out.
Buy the guy a soda.
None, repeat NONE of those hard lines available.
Hook in a vacuum line gauge to see results. I put one in at the line going to the Vacuum resivor line from the engine. This resivor is located by the power brake boost, firewall.
My vacuum reading is back up to 19 plus inches.
This is a VERY TIME CONSUMING PROCESS TO PATCH ALL THOSE LINES. Be prepared for a long day. Mine was.
So was the recent vacuum line patch for the back of the engine.
