Edelbrock Intake with 450 CFM carb

I just wanted to know what you guys thought about that 60 degree edelbrock V6 intake and the 450 CFM carb. Does anyone know if that will work? I have an 84 2.8 T5 SE. My main concern would be with the computer controls between the carb and distributor. As ALL of you probably know already, I have an s10 carb on mine and it runs crappy because it's not computer controlled. Would this package help? Thanks. I can get these both for $100. Will it be worth it?

Boriss, i might be wrong but in 1984, switching from computer carb to non-computer carb doesn't affect the dist? I'm not quite sure on that one.

P.S. did you ever find my house and see my 3rd gens? We ought to meet up sometime.

Will this be hard to put on? Will this work with a computer controlled system?

There aren't any "computers" like on the 1985 F BODY cars & above.
Just get the distb from the Blazer for proper conversion. ONLY UP TO & INCLUDING 1985!! (1986 is TBI)
I have federal cars out in CA, that's why I'm aware of these things.
BUT your car does have some "computer" functions.
When you obtain the carb intake, you'll see differences, but, NOTHING major. That is a "Legal" intake, WITH THE CORRECT 2 BBL. Not Legal with the 4bbl.
SAVE EVERYTHING!!

Okay, so there are no computers on my 84 between the carb and distributor? So the S10 carb wouldn't matter? Or it would, but it just wouldn't run properly right? Then why is my check engine light always on? Would this 450CFM carb and intake help, or would it just be the same exact problem? Thanks. In Indiana there isn't any emission laws so I'm not worried. THanks man, you're helping me a lot.

No, I'm not saying that.
You 1984 car, has a computer for "some" emissioins functions.
It's very "slow" compared to current computers. And your current computer "monitors" very few functions, compared to modern cars or even the 1985 MPFI set up.
Your current light is on, as your systems reads a failure in one of the functions.
My 1985 S-10 Blazer, has no computer, all.
NONE.
I'll bet all up & including 1985 2.8 AUTO Blazers (Federal 49 state version, only) are just like my Blazer.
So, by using that specific distributor, you get to remove "some" wires.
Exactly which ones, you'll discover durting your swap.
Needless to say, you have a great alternative.
Go slow, buy the right parts/gaskets ya need, do this swap.
You may be very pleased for your effort & bucks.
You can even get a rebuilt distributor from this place, w/warranty
Norhtern Auto Parts. 800-831-0884.
I DO RECOMMEND you do a new timing chian & new water pump job, now, too.
Those parts will only cost ya about $40+ more and you will have one sweet ride, for under $500, total!!
Rebuild your carb, NOW (the holley), too.
That is the PERFECT carb for that application. That carb goes for about $400, alone.
Good going!
