heater inlet fitting PITA

ok well the outher day i came out to find a pool of coolant under my car at frist I thought it was the water pump I really wish it was but looking around i found that it was that fitting and ofcorse as soon as i touch it it falls apart and it took for ever to get all the pices out of the intake if anyone else needs to replace this this is how I did it pull the belt now i found it alot easy to remove the uim it gives you a lot more room just be carefull with the vacumme lines there 3 in the back and thers the ones that wrap around the intake and while you are there remove the thermastat housing and t-stat this will help in getting the pices of what falls in to the intake out and replace your t-stat now i got the whole intake gasket kit cos the did not have the t-b or uim gasket instock so that is up to you now the hard part it getting the old therds out i took a chilse and knock out what you can now this is what i did not really the best way but it all i could find I went to a hard where store and got a 1/2 pip plug cos no one near me had a tap that size unless you got the whole kit wich was 200 dolloars so i chose to get a 2.00 plug and just slowly screw it in and keep backing it out aND IN UNTILL YOU GET THURE i DID NOT HAVE ANY TROUBLy doing it this way but that is up to you once you get it all nice and clean put it all back togather check for leaks and you are good to go hope this helps someone else
