^ This. Go to the junkyard and find you a 93-95 Camara with a good 3.4 cheap and swap it in.

It's a plug and play engine. You have to swap over your intake though

Re: more power out of a 85 2.8 700r4? WHAT CAN I DO?

why would you bother swapping a v6? if you look around you could find an 8 for cheap. My brother bought his entire iroc with a 305 for 100 bucks.

there are many guys on here that have v8s for cheap. I have a spare 305 block if you want it.

In the long run, the swap even for another 6 sounds expensive.

I would think your better off getting a 305 auto in one shot for a few hundred and swapping that.

To change over to a v8 you have to get a different tranny, rad, motor mounts, brackets, ect. It can get costly if you dont have a parts car

So you got a lucky 3.4 swap?

Does it have the 2.8L EFI system?

More than likely cost, PO (previous owner) probably just took the pulleys of his 2.8 block and then used the same accessories that came with the car to keep the cost down.

How did you figure out it was a 3.4 again?
