fuel injectors
fuel injectors
I'm going to replace my injectors soon and since I've never attempted this before, is there anything else I need to buy to do the job? Is there a sticky or previous thread on here on how to accomplish this? I would greatly appreicate it, thanks

Re: fuel injectors
It's not difficult and you don't need any special tools. You just need to be careful, methodical and keep everything clean. You should have a manual but it's pretty clear what you have to remove to get to the injectors. There are threads with more details though.
Re: fuel injectors
It was surprisingly easy the first time I did it. Isn't that just like a guy to say, LOL! Seriously, pull the top plenum; 4 bolts I think to hold on the fuel rail; remove the plugs on the injectors and remove them from the fuel rail. Reverse order to reinstall.
Watch you that you don't rip the o-rings fitting them into the fuel rail and then the manifold- this is easy to do, particularly on the fuel rail, as the edges are sharp. Bad o-ring on the manifold means vacuum leak and smog/tuning issues; bad o-ring in the fuel rail means fuel leak and fire! Rub some vasaline on the o-rings and go carefully... GOOD LUCK!
