'86 firebird doing the 2.8 to 3.4 swap

hey all haven't been on in awile with work, and car work but I was looking through one of the books I have here from sumit and seen timing gears, and was not able to be put with a knock sensor.

has anyone had any success in using the grear over the chain with an engine with a knock sensor?

Your 2.8's engine control system (yes, I know it's a 3.4 but you're still using the stock electrics, right?) DOES NOT use the knock sensor. If you want to switch later to a system that will use it, I would pull it out and put a plug bolt in its place or you're going to need to replace it when you go to use it because the road crap will ruin it (ask how I know... $45 I didn't want to spend).

Well I'm doing the 2.8 to 3.4 boggie that is posted on here using the 730 chip and 640? ECM that has the knock sensor set up on it. So it's not the 2.8 electronics but it's not completely the 3.4 either
