trying to figure out if a 2.8 crank with a 6inch rod and 3.1 piston will come close to working
a 6 inch rod 2.8 with a turbo, or high compression hyrbid would be a pretty nasty build

Re: compression hieghts of 2.8 and 3.1 pistons
The difference in crank throw is .3", divide that by 2 and that's what you get for your pin height difference between the 3.1 and 2.8 (.150"). If you put a 6" rod on a 2.8 crank and 3.1 piston, your piston will be proud .140" out of the block (3.1 pistons are .010" in the hole, 2.8 are zero deck).

dammit and the 3.1 pistons cant be flycut enough, forgot about halving the crank throw distance

60*v6 has a CR calculator on their site fyi, useful for figuring out that kinda stuff. Also if you just run 3x00 heads on a stock 2.8 it puts you at a pretty damn high CR from what I recall when I did the calcs on it.
