Re: building a 3.4 and need opinions/advice
Ive been following this thread trying to get an idea of what to do for my own build. I basically want to copy this build but would be turboing it down the road, is there anything else or different i would need to do for that?

Some one say something about wanting ported and polished heads and a 272 cam?
Ported as you can see, polished as you can see, new valve springs, titanium retainers, machined steel valve locks, vitton valves seals, machined heads and spring combo good for .550'' inchs of lift, 1.6 rockers (need 8 or 10 screw in valve studs) and a crane 272 cam.
4 sale.

so that motor should be able to hold up to 10-15psi no problem being a daily driver and probably beaten on regularly

I think I have everything down just trying to figure out what pistons to use with the 3500 top end. I know moly rings, and about how much do those run for?

I plan on using moly rings too on my engine/build this winter. IIRC there somwhere arround 100-150 bucks for the kit. Or somewhere arround there. Ill find one of the links project89 linked me and post it in a few.

Re: building a 3.4 and need opinions/advice
So if you have the time to get the engine in better shape, better to do it now then later IMO. As Ive now learned.
Another thing is I was really pushing my car to the limits. I wasent content with a mid 13 second V6 car. I wanted to go faster and faster. Then once my TC started blowing by I just kept upping the boost till I was trapping 107Mph in the 1/4 mile on a normal basis. So if its just a daily fun toy then yea 10 psi if safe on the engine all day. If its a car that you wana really push to the limits...then no 10-15psi could hurt it in time if your unlucky like me, if your lucky then youll be ok but its truley a flip of the coin.

The cam is brand new.
Or else I would be nearly giving it away.
