Re: torque converter stall need help

Anything done to the motor? 3k isn't necessarily too high (deff not for a TPI car), it just depends on what done to the car. If its stock, yes, I agree you should go smaller. the 2350 should be fine. That's about what mine is and on the street you can't even tell that its a "high stall".

Re: torque converter stall need help

I cant remember what stock is but its somwhere arround 1750-2k stall. I have a 2800Rpm advertised stall on my car. I could tell the difference arround town a little. I would just have to push the gas a little more to move but it wasent too bad. Without a camed or modded car I would stay with the lower stall. But if its already in the car then why take it out?? Slap a Delta 260 grind cam in if you can(they cost 120 bucks shipped) and have fun with it IMO> The main reason youd want a cammed car or a modded one for using a higher stall is because youd want to shift your power range up a tad to match the stall converter.

What kind of converter did you get and where did you get it if you done mind me asking. Is it a GM61HD converter???? Because thats the only higher stall I could find for our narrow 700r's.
