MSD 8.5 plug wires for a V6 (current wires arcing everywhere)
Anybody have them? Last time I ordered a set it was universal and I had to cut to length and crimp the ends myself.
I think TomP mentioned a long time ago about getting the V8 set and holding on to the extra wires, eventually having a 'free' set after so many years.
My old MSD wires were about 10 years old, and the cheap 7mm wires I currently use (along with two of my old MSD wires after the ends pulled off changing plugs recently) aren't that great.
My engine bay was it's own 'blue light special' when I looked at it in the dark recently. Even my MSD coil wire was glowing where it touched the aluminum AC canister. Mileage and power is getting worse, and I know this isn't helping matters.
I'm thinking about this set as I already have a handful of 8.5mm wire clips.

If anyone uses a better option, I'm all ears.

i always do my own universal wires too. I went with summit brand 8mm wires and had no issues with them.
You could go with these and save a bunch of money, 8.5mm is probably a bit much unless you've really upgraded your whole ignition system.

Summit outsources all of their parts, call them and find out who makes their wires, its probably accel or someone similar. You'll get the same parts for cheaper, good if you're on a budget.

Upgrades are pretty much just an MSD 6A and a blaster coil. The 6A is unhooked at the moment anyway, but I'll hook it back up sooner or later. I'm trying to isolate my fuel economy problem.
I have a bunch of clips for the 8.5 wires, which was why I was thinking about getting them again. The 7mm wires are too small for them. I intend to secure the crap out of these and want something thick so I have no more mini-aurora borealis under my hood.
*I like that set you linked (and the price). I'm curious what you consider 'really upgraded' for the ignition though. Mine shouldn't be too much should it?
If there are some other upgrades for more spark I'm open to suggestions for that also.

8s should fit in there, not positive on that. For the cost, I would go with the ones I recommended. You can always wrap a bit of electrical tape around the wire where it fits in the clips to secure them if they don't fit perfectly.

yeah, was thinking about electrical tape as I typed the last post or just heating the clips a tad with a lighter and closing them up slightly.
I take it they'll be fine with the MSD 6A?

Also, since the ignition system isn't really modded, 8.5s aren't going to benefit you. Sorry I can't edit a post from the thirdgen app
