Wiring Harness Routing
Hi Guys,
Anyone know how the wiring harness should be best routed - the part where it goes down the fire wall out past the starter. Just seems to me that it is really close to the exhaust manifold.....
Should I have pushed it down in a different spot (don't want to find out the hard way - lol).

Re: Wiring Harness Routing
Once you have the Y pipe hooked back up to the manifold make sure ya got a good couple of inches between the wiring and the exhaust . Any closer than a couple of inches and it'll melt . I ran into a situation where the back manifold to head bolt fell out and allowed hot air to blow right on the harness and melted it but good . I ended up extending the wires from the starter during the repair so that I'd have the wire length to get the harness up and away from being anywhere near the exhaust . In the first pic you can see the melt , and in the second you can see how far above the exhaust the repaired harness sits .

its about touching stock on mine, I wrapped that section with header wrap and put a tin shield between the two.

Thanks guys for the help.
If only the loom was a little longer there..........
I will bolt up the Y pipe tonight and get busy with the zip ties.

Re: Wiring Harness Routing
I was shock when I noticed it, funny how all the time it was owned and I had it, it never melted anything but the plastic loom covering a little but still when I noticed, I took action.
