What do you mean by emissions pipe?? There's a bunch of emissions on our cars. AIR system, Evap Can, EGR.
If you have a engine vacuum leak of any sorts it will cause rough idle, hunting/surging idle, lean condition or rich at times. Basically a whole mess of issues. Best thing is to fix it asap.
