AIR FILTER ASSEMBLY

I've got an 86 camaro with the 2.8 MPFI. The car was given to me in pieces and I don't think the air cleaner assembly that I have is the correct one for it. So any pictures of what I should have would be helpful. When I get a chance I'll post a pic of what I do have. thanks in advance.

Re: AIR FILTER ASSEMBLY

Here's what the factory stock Camaro 2.8 V6 MPFI air cleaner should look like. Notice that it's got a sensor located near the neck on the drivers side; TPI air cleaners are similar but do NOT have that sensor.

Re: AIR FILTER ASSEMBLY

That is not necessarily the right intake... Not all cars got the dual snorkel, and no Birds got it. Those got the filter can intake that really restricts air flow.

Ok, that is what I thought I'd be looking for. The bottom part, filter area, is still in the car. I'm just missing the top snorkel piece.

The part you are describing is what we have. I was told that the engine is from a firebird. Since our car still has the bottom part for the filters, I would say that we need the dual snorkel.

So is the top part available??

Just to be sure I was clear enough for future readers of this post:

"Here's what the factory stock Camaro 2.8 V6 MPFI air cleaner should look like."

tskills10; I do have just the top 1/2 available if you need it. Send me a PM that includes your ZIP code if your interested and need a shipping quote.

Re: AIR FILTER ASSEMBLY

I believe it was on all V6 Camaros from 85-89. Didnt it change for 90-92 when they went to speed density?
