What's wrong with my car

Yesterday my 2.8 V6 firebird was fine today I went to drive it and it's started up fine then it started jumping and slightly spuddering and it stalled out at a red light. So I pulled over and checked the fluids to find out that it's a quart low on auto tranny fluid after I filled it it continued to jump and sputtered. I know it's not transmission issues because it cycles though gears fine at any level of acceleration but it seemed to do most of the jumping between 40-65 mph anything below 40 or after 65 it's fine.
What could it be

Friends and family say it could be one of the following
Sensors(example mass airflow sensor)
Plugs,wires or distributor
Fuel lines or filter
Anyone experience this before

Remind you the engine was rebuilt at 80,000 miles and has been driven 30,000 miles since with 2200 of it being what I put on it since I bought it last year

What's your maintenance history? Have you done some of that stuff already, like plugs, wires, etc? If not, you have to start there. You can't diagnose drivability issues if you may have old worn out spark plugs/wires, or a plugged fuel filter.

Yeah what drdave said, I would be tempted to check the timing to see if its bouncing around, and look at the timing chain, a cheap one could be worn easily at 30 thou .

Re: What's wrong with my car

I had a mechanic look at it. It needs a tune up. I got the parts needed and I'm going to fix it this weekend
I'll update to see if that's what it needed

What did he define as a "tune up"? Check out the TomP tune up article, it's a good one.

I'm going to replace the Plugs, wires, air filter, distributor cap and PCV valve

I already did the oil change last month and the transmission is fine

Re: What's wrong with my car

Update. It was the mass airflow sensor that caused the issues. It has since been fixed and the old 2.8 runs like new
