Beyond where you are at (Checking electrical), check all undersides of the vacuum hoses.
Those vacuum leaks cause lots of havoc, showing up elsewhere, too.
After you do your broken connection search, clear the computer and go for a test drive. You may get lucky for the price of hose.

also...

Also check to see if the air intake hose has a good seal on it. Although when I replaced the black cylinder that is over the egr (due to a broken vac hose connection) I reset teh comp and the codes were gone. I still have the damn light on with no codes though :-(

well i checked all my vacuum lines and found out that they were a little mixed up. could that cause any harm? i fixed all my vacuum lines and put in a new pcv valve and cleaned out the IAC valve. i cleared the computer of any codes. my idle is great now, but this morning i started the car up and still got a code 34. i shut the car off and started it back up and no code. i dont understand.

Check your connection (electrical) I had a code 34 and come to find out the connector was not even on. Some of these connectors are subject to all elements road salt, water, sand, road kill you know what I mean. Good luck

Yeah I had this same thing happen to me in the summer. So the first thing I did was check the MAF connection with a wire tester and it was fine. So then I did a quick reset, and the same code came up about 10 minutes later.

So when I got home, I took off the MAF, found some grity Oily substance in it cleaned it off, Reinstalled it, unplugged it, and reset the car (left it unplugged of over a hour this time) and haven't seen the problem since.

So I would say you should reset again, maybe leave the battery unpluged for a little longer and see if that clears it for good.
