Have an 84' bird SE. Found out that it has S10 non computer controlled carb. It's not running well and uses Lot's of gas as a result. I've decided NOT to get the original stock computer controlled carb but to put a NON computer controlled distributor on there from an S10 or something like that with a 2.8. How would I go about this. Do I have to find TDC and all that junk? Or do you guys think I should just find the right carb?

Find the correct carb.
49 State version, 2.8, auto. Make sure you have the VIN number handy.
Or toss in a V-8.
