Need help 91 Camaro RS
Re: Need help 91 Camaro RS
The reason I say that is because unplugging the coil wire like your doing is adding all the more gap for the spark to jump , with the net result of delaying (or retarding if you will) the actual time in the cycle where the plug lights the fire .
Try retarding (late , delaying) the distributor timing somewhat and see if it'll run with the wire plugged back in . If so , next do the proper timing procedure where you unplug the advance line and set the base timing , and see if it still runs with the coil plugged back in .

SO you are saying when you have no coil wire from the coil to the top of the dizzy and it runs????? Now im confused....
Re: Need help 91 Camaro RS
I was taking his post to mean that he has the wire slightly pulled out , but still close enough for the spark to jump the gap . If he meant that it ran with the wire far enough away for there to be no connection whatsoever then yea , he'd need an Exorcist rather than any possible advice we could give him ...
