Fan staying on once cut in?

Hey everyone.

Had a mishap the other day when a live wire touched the body of the car for around 3 seconds and now once the fan has cut in it won't stop. Any ideas?

cheers

Re: Fan staying on once cut in?

What wire was this? Sounds like the fan relay is sticking. Once the engine cools enough that the fan should stop, tap on the fan relay. If the fan stops the relay is bad.

RBob.

Re: Fan staying on once cut in?

Thanks RBob. It was a wire I'd added for a function and had stupidly wired to +12V before I'd attached the other end, my own fault.
It seems to have sorted itself out after I checked all the fuses and replaced the slightly melted gauge fuse, which is where I took the feed from.
but it now really doesn't like starting once it's been run. One thing after another with this car!!
