84 standard carborated v6 rough start and idle

I turn the key over and it sometimes just cranks a bit then after like 5 seconds it turns over then jumps up to 300 rev the motor in neutral jumps down to 100 almost wants to power off and then to 150 then stableizes at 200 after a couple of minutes I have no vaccume leaks I just installed new vacuume lines and still does the same thing

When was the last tune up done? Could be something from the ignition, or even the fuel system. You should do some more testing to narrow it down.

I would check the fuel pressure, but replace the fuel filter first, it very well could be as simple as the fuel filter being a little clogged.
