extreme leaning out in open loop... need ideas
ok guys
i had bean beating my head against a wall for a week
the car runs great while its cold. once it gets to running temp, it leans way out
i have a afr gauge running off of the coputer innput from the o2 and it will idle fine but the moment you get over 1400 rpm it leans out and falls on its face(only after it warms up)
help me lol

Only think I could think of is maybe slightly clogged injectors. Or leaking injectors and the ecm is overcompensating for a rich condition.

Stock 3.1 Multec injectors? I'm running them in my car and funny things definitely happen when the car's warm, I'll sometimes get a volt drop, and some engine noise. I think my issue is they're causing a rich condition tho, not lean, but still something worth checking out

yea i pulled the injectors and they ohm out to 11.5 to 11,9
not leaking but possibley cloged
put them back in and changed temp sender tps iac cap rotor wires and ignition mod
it needed a tunr up anyway
runs and idles nicely now, though very long crank befor starting and the moment i hit the throttle its leaning out
im thinking its the injectors as well .. there the oem injectors by the way

Re: extreme leaning out in open loop... need ideas
I have a question that maybe Tuned Performance can answer ?
My question is this ;
Could the fact that he has a AFR gauge hooked up to the same place on the ECM that the 02 connects to be causing the ECM to see a faulty 02 reading from the gauge "loading" the 02's output signal down lower than the ECM expects to be seeing ? I only as because I know the 02 deals with a pretty tiny voltage swing through it's operating range and I have no real clue as to whether such loading would be relevant to it or not ....

I don’t think it’s a problem sharing the o2 signal.

i have been running the afr gauge off of that signal forabout 6 years without an issue so i doubt thats it

You might want to ask the experts southbay08 for injector options.

Thank You for the answer , it was just a passing thought that I had no real clue about so I figured I'd ask someone who knows .
