1992 Camaro 3.1L V6 Manual Transmission Options
I have been looking around to find if there are any transmissions other than the t5 that I could swap onto my 3.1L V6 in my 1992 camaro, the transmission I have isn't fairing too well and the T5, from what I hear, wasn't one of the best transmissions anyway. I realize the obvious solution would be an engine swap, but I am working on a low budget, not a ton of time, and on jackstands in my driveway. I was hoping for a 6 speed, but do not know if I would be able to mate a t56 to the engine.
Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Justin

As far as I'm aware, I believe the T5 is the only manual trans that would bolt up to 1 2.8/3.1 without some sort of fabrication work. Don't believe anyone makes a bellhousing for the T56 to bolt up to the 3.1, and even then I wouldn't count on the T56 input shaft fitting. As long as the T5 you pick up is in good shape, should be perfectly fine behind the 3.1L, unless you've got some kinda turbo setup and you're pushing significantly more than the 140hp/180ftlbs our motors made from factory.
