Guide for parting out a 2.8 V6
Hello. Been trying to sell a 1989 Pontiac Firebird 2.8l V6 auto. After having the car up for a while, can't seem to sell it. Offers seem kind of low and those giving the offers haven't even looked at it in person. I'm wondering if it might be better to just part it out. What parts on this particular car might be the most valuable? I have no problem dismantling this thing if that yields more profits. But wondering what is worth removing and selling.
Thanks,
Thanks,

all depends on condition of the body-a nice rust free hardtop bodyshell without any major damage might have some value, and a decent 2.8/60* T700 could be worth a couple hundred...If car is at least town drivable, worth more intact

Unfortunately, the 2.8 V6 isn't the best engine for the Third Gen. It was OK when the other option was a 145hp LG4 V8... but the only reason why someone might buy that is to swap the engine out. Do you have a clean title? If it's not TOO bad... there's probably interest in it. I'm seeing insane prices for Third Gens... like I'd never expected to see ~10 years ago.
