Fuse 6

91 ,3.1 firebird ,
I had the plenum off ,put it back. Now will not start with fuse 6 continuing to blow .
I don't know if I've done something , like pinched a wire or it something unrelated .
On fuse box it says fuel injector 2 ,but what does than mean in real world ,
Thank for ya time .

Re: Fuse 6

The diagram shows inj fuse 2 feeds power to injectors 2,4,6. You may have pinched one of the wires. It should still start and run on the other 3 cylinders. Is it a 10a fuse?

Re: Fuse 6

There is a 10A fuse FP/INJ 2
Is that the fuse you're talking about?

That fuse powers Bank 2 of fuel injectors (cylinders 2, 4, 6). The 18 AWG size wires in BLK/GRN color at the injectors.

Re: Fuse 6

Thank you .,.
It usually starts first click , but this time I heard the fuse pop.
My clumsy refitting in the rain .
Appreciate the description of what it actually does, made my life easier . .
I'll update if I fix it , thank you again .

Re: Fuse 6

Sorry, I should have said that my response is based on an '88 Firebird 2.8L wiring schematic (the only schematics I have). I am hoping it is close enough to be sufficient answer for your '91 3.1L, but I am not certain of that.
