I'm planning on buy a new cat back system for my 86 2.8. I was wondering what is the diameter of my exhaust. I want an exhaust that sound aggressive with a nice rumble but also I want the most performance. I hear good things about dynomax. Mostly I want performance. what system you you guys recommend?? What about flowmaster any good??

The concensus is dynomax sounds and gives the best performance. The system is 2 1/2". As of now no one has the 2.8-3.1 headers in production, but if you have read the posts by me and others I am TRING to remake them myself in limited numbers by using a set of Hooker Super Comps as a "mold" to go by.

 

i ordered summits Super Turbo Cat back system 2.5in... i love it... just make shure you call the seller and confirm u have the right numbers for your car,make shure it will fit...
i believe the stock piping is 2.25 and the cacto cc will slide over the stock 2.25, and enlarge it to 2.5, again make shure u talk to the people to get the numbers correct...

flowmaster sounds nice on a v6 i am not shure, but on the dynomax ST box they show that it outflows flowmaster...
i love downshifting and letting the gears slow, it makes a nice rumbling sound... this is my favorite mod so far

there r some sounds in my sig... the dynomax clip there got messsed up, due to my recorder and mic being all messed up, ill get a better clip soon, i just love that dynomax!
a kid at my school has a flowmaster on his 2.8 camaro, not shure it its a catback, but his sounds kinda too loud... like "no muffler" loud
