Power Windows

I just added power windows and want to let you know it really isn't that hard. It took about 7 hours to do and I would never do it again, but the universal kit does work. It looks good, it works really really well. It was easy to install, but took so dam long. I still can not figure out why. It took almost an hour to choose where to place the motor to clear everything.

If you want to do it I recommed you get a junkyard door and toss them on with new hinges and you would be set.

my first day on the job, i saw a mechanic change a power window motor in a 1/2 hour flat

if they were gonna give me flat rate, i'd be looking for a new job

it all boils down to experience

Congrats on the mod, Brian! Are the windows nice and fast? Mine are slow; they've always been slow, but they seem to be getting slower. I have a feeling I'll be changing them soon...

I agree with HIX... sounds like how my dad's motors died (in his Chevy truck). They were actually the same shape motors as is in our cars... he got it out of JC Whitneys for $50- and it was stamped "GM"!!

The switches are in the factory locations. I got the universal kit form summitracing. Averall they are not real fast and that sucks.. I was hoping for faster. Was it worth it, no, but two years ago I got this kit and now they are on.... This year has been great for older mods getting put on.

My double roller was put on back in November, My power windows this month, my KYB struts this upcomming firday adn I am redoing my battery relocation with a on/off switch, remote jumper cables and everything next month. I also have to convert the AC to 134 so if anyone has any experience doing this let me know... Was it cold, what kits/parts did you buy...
