roller rockers
roller rockers
hi i want to buy a set of crane cam roller rockers. Are they worth the money? what are you guys using for the 3.1 v6 and what kind of horse power gains do you think i will get. i already have a K&N air filter, flowmaster exhaust, jet power pulley's,jet stage 2 performance chip, transgo shift kit and a richmond 3:73. i would really like the help because i want to get these but dont know if its worth the money. summit racing has them for $361.00
They do not offer a noticable Hp gain(stock sized), what they DO is lower the internal friction over the stock rockers.
This lower friction relates to lower oil temps on the head. The stock stamp steel rocker cause alot of friction, hense increasing oil temp and the rate at which the oil breaks down. They also create a more stable valve train at higher RPMs, along with supporting a higher RED line RPM.
As far as the ratios, stock replacement is 1.52(basically) a step up to 1.6 has some noticable power gains from the increased lift, but this is usually better when paired with the upgraded cam (crane 2030) is the concensus replacement, I myself am looking at a MUCH more radical can by Crower, that offers a power band starting at 2200 through 6500 and Red Line at 7K.(with appropriate supportive upgrades)

they will give u a better revving engine. by themselves, IMO, its not really worth it. there good when upgrading ur cam. crane 2030 seems to be one of the more popoular one. crower also makes some more aggressive cams.

How many miles are on your car? If you have over 60K then you need new valve springs too... 105# should do it.. I would just get the 1.52 roller tips form comp cams... 109.99 and are a direct bolt in..
do like brian 1.52 magnum roller rockers. 110.00
also i would like to let some people know that 1.52 rr
add lift to your cam! so say you have a 2030 crane compucam
that is rated 423 int- 423exh will become 435 int- 435exh
so the total lift will be 435 & 435
