I Rock

The rebuild started perfectly on the first try.:lala:

I set the timing, adjusted tps/ min air, cleared the codes, installed wiper motor and hood and now I'm good to go.

3/4 turn after 0 lash seems to work well.

I did a compression test last night and got

#1 165
#3 160
#5 170

I plan to retest and maybe adjust in the spring. I played with turning the nut more and the compression did increase. But I noticed quickly that my lifters not being pumped up fully WAS affecting the reading.

There are no leaks at all anymore. Oil pressure is at 2/3, I ferget the number. it's in KPA anyways

There is no valve train noise, just a mean rumble.

Man it sounds evil!!!, I can't believe how sweet it sounds.

Especially at 2500 rpm, oh man it sounds good. It has this hollow tint to the sound.

And that rpm drop grumble. so fn

I'm going to insure it now. Anyone jealous it's costing me $580 (can) per year to drive it?.

The chemical and mechanical breaking in ceremony is tonight.

Thanks all

Right on sounds great. Glade to hear you had luck with setting the valve lash on your car.

Have fun breaking it in tonight.

How did you get insurance that cheap??????????

I pay 50-60 bucks a month for mine. full coverage. Though I am 25 so it dropped close to 75 bucks!....And no tickets on record, many a cop tried but got shut down in court!. LOL

Insurance works different here. It's government run.

You get nailed on your Drivers license. you can get three tickets before you get a $10 surcharge. Accident= $100 surcharge. 2nd accident surcharge is $150 for each.

Plates come with $200,000 liability and your cars cash value.

I got auto pack for $125 more. That included 1,000,000 liability and free windsheild repairs. And more cash for your car if it's crashed.

Also my car is considered a "High Risk Vehicle" so they gave me a free safty-loc (the metal thing that wraps around your column). Regina is the car-teft capital of North America, so I plan to use it along with my alarm.

Yea, I do know how your heart feels those first couple of cranks, then....
Good compression reading.
Did you use a compression gauge to adjust the valves?
