TPI/ MPI sensors

i was looking through a NAPA catalog in school and every sensor i looked up for the 2.8/3.1 MPI motors and the 350/305 TPI motors were the same part number..........

so i am thinking..........theoretically..........that if you want to swap a MPI motor for a TPI V8......can you keep the MPI harness......lengthen it............and use it on the TPI with just a different PROM??????

How would you add the 2 extra injectors?

Yeah, sensors are sensors, doesn't really matter which engine they're from. In fact, a lot of the ignition parts are also the same! A lot of the wiring is the same, too... but like was said, you need to add the extra injectors. I think if you search the archives, you'll find info on this; I recall someone asking this question a while ago.
