A sad day...the RS is finally on the lot for sale :(

First off, its amazing how many new users the V6 board has gotten in the last few months!! Hell, most of you may not even recognize me even though I was a staple on here until last fall

Anyways, I finally got the RS on the lot for sale. It had been out on 2 previous Saturdays, and I had 3 people drive it in 2 days...the car is sure getting interest. It was sad washing it and driving it to the dealer yesterday, then putting it up on display. It'll be interesting to see what I can finally get for it...

For those of you who don't know my car, here's what I have...

'89 Camaro RS 2.8/AT
PW, PL, t-tops, 96k miles, all original
Hypertech chip, K&Ns, Accel ignition, many new parts...

Its funny to watch people drive by and gawk at a clean third gen for sale. As for the ride yesterday, I nailed it from a dead stop for one last 5500 RPM 1-2 shift, and once again she ran perfect...and once again she barely chirped the RR I'm gonna miss it a lot...then again, when I got in my Grand Am and proceded to eat a '97-up 3800 Grand Prix, I remembered why I decided to go for a newer FWD anyways...

All you V6 newbies, you can learn a lot from these guys...I know I did!!

It is true. There are alot of new users here. I remember a whole bunch of you guys who guided me through my troubles, and now I don't even see them anymore. I guess we all have to move on.

Yes, times are chagrining. A while new group of V6 enthusiasts are on the board now. I think this group is bolder than us old guys. More of them are looking into things we were to lazy/cheap to get like NOS, Turbos, ect…

I remember you Jason. I've been here a little while only off and on, but there was a LOT of people that have come and gone. It will be a SAD SAD day if TomP or Ked85 leave. One of the reasons I come on here is to read their long informative posts. I learned a lot from these guys and hopefully they'll be here a while!

ls1powerbaby,

Hehe...the reason why it has not sold yet was because I was too lazy to get it ready for sale!!! First the body shop took me forever to get it into (had a small hole under the gfx I had fixed, as well was a small amount of surface rust), as they were all backed up. Then I needed to get my whole stereo out and get the factory one back in. I work a lot, so that took awhile to get done too. Then, I wanted to get the t-top leaks fixed before it sat down on the lot, 15 miles from my house, with leaky t-tops. I always put towels on the seats when it rained...can't exactly do that if I don't have easy access to the car!!!!

Well, its been friggen cold, so it took me awhile to get the top fixed...but it is now And finally, I knew it would be easier to sell in the Spring, so I held onto it and drove it a little bit. I'm gonna miss it A LOT...and yes, the car is more awesome looking now than ever And the tops don't leak for the first time since 1994!!!

Its out there for $3,995...we'll see what happens. I love this car like a child, but its time to move on. If I didn't love it so much, I probably would've forced myself to get it down on the lot much sooner...

Its hard to sell it, but seeing as how I'll be driving 120 miles/day this fall, getting rid of it while it still has value to it is a good idea. I can rack miles up on the Grand Am, and its nothing more than a disposable car...

That just happens to get 6 MPG better, and does the 1/4 mile almost 2 seconds faster Gotta love technology!
