Guide plates?

Hi folks, I'm trying to build a 2.8 ground up. Do the iron heads have guide plates for the push rods?

Thanks.

Yes.
I spent very close to $800 total for my 3.4 swap.
Including engine.
How much it costing ya to do your 2.8 engine job?

I'm not doing an engine swap. Not yet anyway. Don't even have a V6 Camaro yet (and my V8 2nd gen is not to be touched ) .

I'm just building the 2.8 engine for the moment. The approach is that of a CPU overclocker : take a stock size engine and see how much power it can make with various add-ons/modifications like cam, porting, roller rockers, higher compression ratios etc. Dyno2000 claims something more than 200HP based on the components I'm looking at.

So as a start I just ordered a pair of rebuilt iron heads and a new GM block. The heads do not come with rocker arm studs or guide plates, hence my question.

So, does anyone know if the 2.8 iron heads use guide plates?

Thanks.

Ben

Yes they do . I have a 2.8 on a stand in my garage. I has/had guide plates. I took them off for cleaning purposes.
