Guide plates?
I'm not doing an engine swap. Not yet anyway. Don't even have a V6 Camaro yet (and my V8 2nd gen is not to be touched
) .
I'm just building the 2.8 engine for the moment. The approach is that of a CPU overclocker : take a stock size engine and see how much power it can make with various add-ons/modifications like cam, porting, roller rockers, higher compression ratios etc. Dyno2000 claims something more than 200HP based on the components I'm looking at.
So as a start I just ordered a pair of rebuilt iron heads and a new GM block. The heads do not come with rocker arm studs or guide plates, hence my question.
So, does anyone know if the 2.8 iron heads use guide plates?
Thanks.
Ben
