K&N Filters and gas mileage

Lately I've been getting really bad mileage, mostly due to my around town driving. I replaced my air filter w/ a new Fram one, but I was wondering how much would I get w/ a K&N. I got about 170 miles on a tank filled w/ 10.9 gallons. Thats kind of sad. Oh and I saw it at Kragen for $33, how much have you guys paid for these?

K&N will help, but work best when added with other mods, like ram air/cai, cat backs, upgraded ignitions. Sad thing is my wifes 95 blazer currently has more go fast goodies than both my cars: a K&N filter & Dynomax exhaust. did the filter last year. couldn't tell you the full gains as I also did wires & pugs@ same time. highway millage did improve by 1-3 mpg. did exhaust 2 weeks ago. Look up TomPs' full tuneup for tips.

I think AZ has the filter for $29 or so

Well so far all I have is a new AC Delco coil, Flowmaster 80 and 7.5 mm plug wires w/ Delco plugs (plugs and wires recently replaced, Oct 2001) Firebirds have the worst intake design, so its hard to make a good intake w/o completely changing stuff.
