help on wheels
hey all, im new here so forgive me if i'm postin in wrong place and all.
Im ordering weld magnum 2.0's for my 88 GTA. Goin against the grain and head'n to the 15 inch wheel. I'm making this car into a mainly street driven pro street car. No tubs, stock suspension...i think it might be lowered 1 inch with eibach springs from previous owner. Anyways... i need the widest tire i can get because im puttin a pro charger on the motor thats in it. its got the 350 .030 over with AFR 50cc chamber heads and TPIS mini ram...roughly 375-400 hp before supercharging. Hoping for around 650 hp after the procharger d1sc 20 psi boost.
I need to know how wide of wheel to put under this car without having to tub it or whatever and also how wide of sidewall will fit. I dont want any part of the tires to come in contact with the fender opening at all..perferibly it be in the fender about 1/2 inch. Combo i'm lookin at is the 15x9 weld magnum 2.0's 6 inch backspacing with a Mickey Thompson Street Drag Radial 275/50/15 thats a 10 inch tread and 11 inch sidewall on 8 inch rim. so of course sidewall be a little bigger. U guys out there know what fits so fill me in if u could please...thanks!! p.s. it doesn't exactly have to be that tire either...would like to stay with a radial but guess it dont matter see'n as im puttin 26x5 tires on front with the 15x4 weld mag 2.0's

Do a search on the suspension board under the topic:
Biggest fatty tire with no fender gap that fits perfect, help
- you'll learn real fast that more can be found using the search key on this site than about anything else. - If can't find the answer you're looking for in a search, then post...

Wheels and Tires
I've got a set of M/T 275/50-15's on the back of my 83 TA. they are mounted on 10" tires with 6" BS. had to cut the bump stops off though.
But they look very good tucked up under there. And they hook-up pretty good also.

i was figure'n which i could be wrong....too keep the wheel located where its at on the outside (tuck'n) i would have to add that much backspace to the wheel for every inch wider i went. example - 15x9....6 inch back...15x10...7 inch back.. ones on there now are 16x8's with 5 inch back. when i was measuring out going by this method i can fit the 15x9 6 inch back with bout 3/4 inch clearance on inside.....so that'd make it impossible to run 10's without stick'n them outside the fender a little. am i doing this wrong????
