Goodyear F1 tires
Anyone running them? Did a search came up pretty empty handed. Just wanna know how they compare to what else is out there since they are some expensive pieces of rubber. The tread pattern is pretty damn cool on them too (remind me of my falkens)

I have Eagle F-1's on my Trans Am and I have mixed feelings about them. They have a pretty descent ride for the kind of tire they are. Handeling is great and traction is amazing, even wet. But they seem to be really, really soft. There are already a couple of small chunks missing from them. I'm sure they won't be a long lasting tire. If I turn the wheel a little in the driveway there are black scrub marks on the concrete. For the price I am happy with them.
Thanks, Martin

Softer tires = better traction.
You can't have it all.

I had eagle F-1's, I think they they call it the GS-D3. They were good tires and performed well, you could push them and they handled pretty good. My complaint was using them as a daily driver they wore out quick. I was very careful to not drive them hard and take care of them but they still wore fast. I just got Bfgoodrich KDW's and they are awesome tires. I have put about 6500 miles on them since I got them last summer and they don't wear nearly as fast as the goodyears. In all aspects I think they handle better, wet, dry, cold. They are not a winter tire though but SC doesn't see bad winters so that wasn't a consideration. For the money the KDW's are a far better tire in my opinion. They have the new KDW-2 pattern which I did look at but I liked the pattern of the KDW better (little more conservative). Both tires are good tires though.

what about yokohamas avs sport, i have them and they have an awesome tread pattern . Look better than the eagles.
look closely in the pic and you can see the tread patten , pretty cool too , and when you do a burnout it looks like a slick too since theirs no middle channel or anything .

damn...expensive
right now im looking at the Avon Tech M550 A/S...and according to tire rack...the ratings for that price beats everything and tires that cost like 60$ more a piece. Seems a like a good deal to me even if the treads dont look that cool. Reading pages of reviews and not really any bad reviews either. Anyones read up on them? I got bfg g-sports on my car old 16s right now and they are great tires for the price...very grippy.

I currently have the Goodyear GS-D3. They are great tires. They have very good traction and handling. I wouldn't recomend them for daily driving as they are very soft. But they really can't be beat in their price range, $150/each.

i have the same 275-40 F1s as on the LS1 WS6 cars and they wore out real fast ..
I really miss the GSCs looked great and lasted a good while longer than the F1s

I hated them! - They didn't last as long as my DR's do and they didn't even hook-up. IMO they're too soft. After a pass they'd look almost like slicks cause the rubber would just roll-off, filling the grooves. I could scrape bags of rubber outta my wheel wells. -Same on a buddies Cobra. - I was less than impressed. If I had paid anything for them(freebe from a freind) I'd have demanded a refund. -
note: - This was on old wheels(can't remeber size, smaller than now. - Cobra had 255/50/17. - Wouldn't hook on VHT...

For a street car they are great. I have run mine for years (F1 GS) and love them. My bud has put a hard 17k miles with these tires on his '02 SS and they still perform/look great. You will wear out any tire prematurely if you succumb them to burn outs and track duty.
I have heard nothing but great things about the GS-D3. Car and Driver TV also gave it the highest rating amongst other performance tires. It gave them the best handling during wet, dry, cornering, and braking situations.

I whole heartidly agree with Shifty on this one. I saw the Car and Driver show and they couldn't stop complimenting the GS-D3's, besides that, i also worked at Discount tires for a long time and the fav performance tire at the shop was the Eagle's. Best traction short of a drag radial period! My Dad has them on his 2002 WS6 and won't stop talking about how great they look and even more of how they perform.
